Wrote Emergency and Operator Services
subscriber lookup system using Borland C++ Novell Lan
Workplace toolkit, TCP/IP and Unix C. Subscriber data was extracted from
GPT's digital exchange (System X) to a HP-UX Unix server. PC's running Tandberg
Terminal emulation handled subscriber calls but could do rapid look-up of
emergency and free-phone numbers based upon the subscribersSTD code. This
brought emergency 999 (211 now) lookups down from 14 seconds to less than one
second. To accomplish this I wrote TCP/IP server using Berkley sockets on a
HP9000 under HP/UX 9.0I also wrote real time call monitoring system
using Windows SDK toolkit. This gave a graphical display of the operator
staus (Available, busy, training etc.). This replaced a similar system written
X-Windows and again was much faster.
